EXTENDED FAMILIES LIVING TOGETHER
Both immigration patterns and the recession have changed American life. One of the big changes is in the way we live. According to census data, from 2005 through 2009 3.8 million people moved in with relatives. In 2005, 6.9% of households included extended family. In 2009, 8.2% of households did.
